Job Description:
We are looking for a senior P&C risk manager to join our P&C risk management department. You will identify and resolve key P&C risk management issues and contribute your natural catastrophe expertise and modelling skills to the referral process for guidelines, capacity and contentious issues once they reach an escalation level requiring sign-off by risk management. Leading continuous risk dialogue with designated Products and Client Markets units will fall within your remit, as will contributing accurate and topical comments for risk reports and external risk communications, with a focus on natural catastrophe business. Furthermore, you will participate in audits of risk-taking units in order to ensure adherence to risk management processes and support the Products Centre in their efforts to improve the quality of risk information.
Who we are looking for:
Degree in mathematics, natural or engineering science
Sound conceptual capabilities with an interest in analysing complex product policy issues
Ability to make critical but objective assessments of deals and business situations
Ability to communicate in a constructive and effective manner
Underwriting experience, particularly in natural catastrophes, with exposure to more than one market / product
Good knowledge of reinsurance guidelines and best-market practices
Ideally familiarity with Swiss Re's referral process
Experience in performing underwriting audits / peer reviews an advantage
