Our dynamic Trading Platform Team works with cutting edge technology and is now looking for the very best talent to join them. As such we are looking for an Application Engineer with proven experience who can work closely as a liaison between demanding users and our diverse development teams. You will be working in our brand new, professional yet informal, sunny (for Amsterdam), friendly office in the centre of Amsterdam. You will be part of a dedicated hybrid research and Trading Platform Team who doesn't have time for red tape or irritating office politics and who view building innovative competitive trading platforms and strategies as a sport which they like to win!

RESPONSIBILITIES: Work closely with traders to understand business requirements, design efficient and scalable solutions.

• Create and maintain up to date work plans, communicating status to traders.

• Work closely with market data and network infrastructure teams as well as quantitative analysis team.

• Support systems during trading hours.

• Participate in ongoing cutting edge research, data analysis, design decisions, and to interact with traders inside the company and our off shore IT department.

• Contribute directly to the success of the team and the company in a very visible way.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 3 years experience maintaining high end software.

• Solid knowledge of software development processes, willing to learn cutting edge frameworks, methodologies and new scripting environments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in and contribute in a team environment.

• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and develop resolutions to complex problems.

• Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions, complete time-sensitive tasks and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, often high stress environment.

• Leadership skills and a flexible attitude to working hours.

• Understanding of financial models, statistical analysis and/or simulation is beneficial.
