Our client is a boutique investment banking firm headquartered in San Francisco. The firm specializes in media and telecommunications transactions, and provides the following services to its clients: M&A support; private equity & debt raises; financial and strategic advisory services; and valuations & appraisals.
POSITION REPORTS TO: Managing Directors
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Unique opportunity for candidates with a mix of financial and operating and/or investment banking experience to develop transaction analysis and deal execution experience in an entrepreneurial environment. Previous media and telecommunications experience is NOT required.
Candidate will be responsible for assisting senior members of the firm with analyzing and ?executing transactions, developing firm and deal strategies, and preparing presentation materials.
Duties will include financial modeling, valuation analysis, market research and extensive client interaction. Responsibilities will grow quickly and commensurately with experience and abilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Successful candidates should possess initiative, integrity, enthusiasm, creativity and a strong desire to learn all facets of the business.
Must be able to demonstrate superior analytical and problem solving abilities, understanding of financial statements, and experience using Microsoft Office products.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Must be able to concisely articulate thoughts and ideas.
Good general business acumen with common sense approach to problem solving is critical.
TOP REQUIREMENTS OF THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
2 to 5 years of investment banking experience.
Business and Economics majors from top schools with strong backgrounds in finance and/or accounting, or other majors with strong undergraduate GPAs.
Quality-minded individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills and strong financial mind.
Proven ability to work in a fluid, dynamic, team-oriented environment and to meet extremely aggressive deadlines while maintaining a positive, even demeanor and temperament.
Must possess ability to resolve issues in a collegial, constructive manner.
