The Role
The Director, Primary Loan Distribution will be responsible for the successful distribution of loan transactions originated and led by the Bank into the primary loan market. He/She will also be responsible for the provision of feedback, advice and guidance to Loan Syndicate regarding the pricing, structure and liquidity/market appetite for loan transactions.
Responsibilities
•Liaise with Loan Syndicate to provide feedback, advice and guidance and recommendations re: structure, pricing, and liquidity/market appetite for loans to be distributed into the primary loan market to minimise both market and reputational risk for the bank whilst maximising earnings.
•Manage the primary loan sales process on behalf of the Bank to sell down the bank’s exposure within terms of sanction.
•Establish, develop and maintain relationships with the primary loan market investor base to facilitate effective sell-down of transactions; this will include new business areas such as shipping, structured finance etc.
•Provide recommendations with regard to remedial actions to be taken in the case of “long” primary positions.
•Provide underwriting/sub-underwriting risk opinions for opportunities across all market segments.
•Train, supervise, and coach junior staff in order to build confidence and competence in the primary sales process.
•Maintain compliance with Bank rules, standing instructions, procedures and guidelines, together with all regulatory and statutory requirements where appropriate, taking action to protect the Bank’s business and reputation at all times.
•Populate databases with information in respect of:- oinvestor contacts and appetites oongoing sales of underwritten transactions, thereby contributing to the correct reporting of the banks underwrite exposure.
