In this regard, they provide a vital service to the Front Office and other departments including risk management, regulatory reporting and senior management. The EM Europe Local Currency business is a multi-entity, multi-product business covering Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The business utilizes the CSi, CSSEL and London Branch entities across the product suite offered, and risk management is performed predominantly in CSi-style FO spreadsheets. Originally, the business was predominantly focused on more vanilla flow products (FX, bonds, Money Market Loans and Deposits), but the level of exotic products has increased substantially across the desks. The EM Local Currency Trading Europe business has grown considerably in the last 3 years. Expansion into new markets (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Israel, Romania and Serbia) was initially over a relatively simple product set (FX, NDFs, Money Market Loans and Deposits) as CS sought to establish a presence and build a client base. The business is now expanding into more complex, higher margin products especially in the FX Option product spectrum.
