Principal Accountabilities:
Work closely with tagged Principal and the Global Risk Manager to produce and/or source the analysis that would allow for informed discussion of risk positions by that group, the Investment Committee and the CIO.
Independently design and build valid stress scenarios including the identification of the correct parameters and correlations.
Carry out independent work and analysis for the tagged principal, calling on resources within the organization to accomplish the tasks.
Oversee all relevant risk calculations and associated investor reporting.
Accurately monitor all appropriate risk limits and work with the principal to enforce them.
Model and stress all the instruments in the portfolio. Including; Tranches, FTD's, Mortgages and associated derivatives and CDO's.
Independently analyze corporate balance sheets.
Evaluate fresh information flows or identify key variables to be used in stress testing.
Skills
Required:
Bachelor's Degree.
At least 7 years experience in directly related credit markets.
Strong understanding of mainstream financial products and their uses and valuation. Including; CDS/CDSI/IRS/Swaptions/Corporates, etc.
Well-developed inter-personal and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate professional opinions and influence senior investment professionals.
Preferred:
MBA/CFA
Strong preference for hands-on experience running a credit and/or rates portfolio.
