Under the dual supervision of the BBSF Audit Committee and the Chief Internal Auditor of Banque Saudi Fransi (by delegation of the Chairman of BBSF), rebuild and manage the bank's audit team.
Create and maintain a professional audit function, assessing the bank's risk situation and the quality of its internal control structure and ensuring compliance with local regulations and internationally accepted accounting standards.
Ensure the quality and effectiveness of the Audit function.
Formulate and approve policies and procedures for the Audit Division and provide direction.
Create and obtain approval for the Division's annual Budget and Audit Plan and subsequently manage their implementation.
Ensure effective work programmes within the overall context of the annual Audit Plan.
Ensure the Division is properly resourced with business tools and staff.
Approve and manage the recruitment and training plan for the Division.
Act as Secretary to the Audit Committee and ensure fulfilment of Audit Committee decisions.
Participate in committees and meet with Senior Management as appropriate.
Sign off on final audit report and ensure that recommendations are effectively followed
Preferably a Syrian national or fluent in Arabic, written and spoken.
A perfect command of English, written and spoken.
At least 3 - 5 years in a similar role - management of an audit team - in a reputable bank.
Demonstrable in-depth knowledge of accounting procedures.
Strong analytical skills.
Good knowledge and experience of operational, credit, market and reputation risks.
Knowledge of the local and international rules and regulations governing banking activity.
A decisive person with proven management, planning and organisational skills.
The personal gravitas to command respect at all levels, combined with the interpersonal and presentational skills necessary to influence and persuade.
Educated at least to first degree level with a finance, commerce or similar major.
A trained auditor, preferably with a CIA certification.
