This role is designed for an individual who can manage a Middle Office for both rates and a multi-asset products within a securities investment group operations team located in San Francisco, CA.

The main responsibility will be to manage the Middle Office desks and team members. These products include, Interest Rates (OTC and Cash), Commodities, Muni’s (fixed and variable), and Equities. From a commodities perspective the preferred individual will have knowledge of Ags, Metals, Crude and Energy along with understanding the concepts of financial vs. physical deals. While there are many products and process associated with this role, it is not expected that the manager understand each and every product but is expected to be able to learn and adapt quickly. The candidate should be extremely confident in their skill set with excellent communications skills. The individual should be self-managed and a self-starter. The candidate should be able to operate and manage in a very fast passed, “change” oriented environment across a diverse team. The candidate will need to have extensive experience with trade capture, profit and loss reporting and risk analysis as it applies to a derivative and securities Middle Offices role. This individual will need to have a proven track record working in a trading environment. The role is seated on the trading floor. The candidate will be speaking with Technology, Compliance, Finance and other internal disciplines on a daily basis.
Requirements:
Looking for a dynamic individual who is a strong leader and strong with employee development. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background within the Financial Markets (OTC and Securities) combined with a proven track record of managing a team of 5 plus employees. A 4 year college degree (preferred majors are: Finance, Accounting, Math/Engineering or Economics) is required. The individual will need to have extensive experience with operational/middle office practices and controls. The individual will need to have a proven ability to work with both internal and external auditors along with the Regulators. The candidate will have a proven track record in change management, project management, reduction of operational risk, improvement of efficiencies, and process improvement all while managing to a budget. A working knowledge of systems like Endur and Calypso is a preferred, but not required. A strong knowledge of EXCEL is needed. This is a “hands on” role. Strong verbal & written communication skills, ability to multi-task, perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines and the ability to solve complex problems are at the core of the daily work day.
