Liquidity Manager

The Treasury Department is looking for a Liquidity Manager to join the team in London.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Credit Suisse is in the process of enhancing its global liquidity management framework to meet increased internal management demands as well as external regulatory requirements in the UK and across Europe. The individual will be a member of the global liquidity team ultimately reporting locally to the Head of EMEA Treasury and functionally to the Global Head of Liquidity Management. He / she will take responsibility for a number of the key areas of the liquidity framework in EMEA, working with the Investment Banking trading desks to ensure a thorough understanding of business flows and their impact on the liquidity profile of the principal operating entities in EMEA. Additionally, the role will encompass specific projects to further develop the way liquidity risk is measured, monitored and managed in EMEA.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

- Drive the analysis of the liquidity position of the principal entities in EMEA using existing data sources and tools
- Understand key sources and uses of liquidity for the EMEA business and entities and understand implications on global liquidity position
- Suggest management actions, develop solutions to structural issues
- Manage the regulatory ratios for the UK entities
- Provide meaningful commentary to Treasury management on changes in liquidity
- Execute detailed liquidity reviews of specific business areas to provide a deeper understanding of liquidity risks
- Interaction with Global Treasury team
- Provide adhoc analysis to support ongoing discussions with regulators.
- Manage the implementation of strategic project deliverables to ensure both internal and external requirements are met.
- Lead analysis on structured notes issuance.
- Manage potential central banks access initiatives (Bank of England etc)
- Aid the implementation / formalisation of the EMEA approach to specific liquidity risks (CSA approvals etc)
- Staff development (appraisals etc)

Treasury is part of the CFO division and contributes especially to its goals by optimizing the use of financial resources and acting as a guardian of the bank's financial franchise.
These goals are achieved by efficiently managing the bank's capital, ensuring adequate funding and liquidity for the bank and driving shareholder value through the active management of the firm's capital, funding and corporate currency positions. Global Treasury is managed functionally along the following lines:
• Capital Management
• Funding & Corporate Currency Exposure Management
• Liquidity and Asset & Liability Management

Treasury is responsible for driving the agenda and chairing the bank's Asset and Liability Committee (“ALM-CARMC”), which comprises the Credit Suisse CEO, the CEOs for the three banking divisions, the CFO and other key risk managers.

Treasury has senior representation in each region (Switzerland, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas) covering these functional areas in order to ensure Treasury executes effectively on its strategy of driving shareholder value and partnering with the banking divisions and shared service functions.
The department employs approximately 85 staff with Staff located in Zurich, London, New York, Luxembourg, Guernsey, Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. The Treasurer is based in Zurich and the Deputy Treasurer is based in New York.

TO QUALIFY YOU MUST POSSESS:

- Degree level education at a premier institution (at least 2:1 or equivalent)
- Accountancy qualification - preferably achieved via a top tier firm
- MBA, Association of Corporate Treasurers or equivalent
- Experience in investment or private banking environment
- Experience in investment or private banking environment
- Experience in Treasury / Liquidity Risk Management
- Good understanding of financial products and markets
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analytical techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and organisation skills; team player, multitasked and must be self motivated
- Above average proficiency with basic software (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
- Quantitative background, understanding of statistical models, experiences in running simulations
- Strong management and communication skills
- Team player
- Ability to multi-task and lead long dated projects and to drive implementation via committees and other work groups
- Ability to influence the senior management group. Generates innovative ideas and able to promote and advocate ideas persuasively
- Strong awareness in Control
- Experience in trading room environment
