For our client a renowned Private Bank in Geneva, we are searching for a Head of Business Performance, reporting to the Finance Director.
Purpose of the Role
Lead the interface of the finance team with the business and the Group in all matters regarding business performance.
Planning, Budgeting, Performance Measurement
Manage planning and budgeting process
Coordinate and standardise financial target setting, cascade and monitoring of performance across the business
Prepare business and financial cases when needed
Track projects and investment portfolio
Analyse & Communicate Performance
Develop analysis to support business decisions and performance measurement
Design standard reports across all business dimensions (product, segment, geography, responsibility etc)
Support communication of performance (monthly report design, challenge sessions, QBR etc)
Finance Function
Lead the development of the Business Partnership model ensuring a quality service to the business
Infrastructure
Lead the development of the Essbase SMART system as it applies to all reporting and control responsibilities.
Education & Experience
Primary Degree from a reputed university (ideally with higher honours)
Relevant post-grad (MBA or professional accounting qualification)
Excellent level of English and understanding of UK business culture is essential (near-native or native English)
Self confidence and the personal impact to gain and maintain credibility at senior level are important
Experience in preparation of presentation of financial performance and analysis (e.g. in an investor relations or consulting role) would be a strong asset
10 to 15 years of career experience is required
Experience in private banking sector
Profile
Above average academic and/or career experience
Proven ability to develop manageable and insightful financial models
Good understanding of industry and latest trends; ability to “think outside of the box”
Pro-active with good work ethic – able to work unsupervised and to develop, agree and execute a relevant and stretching program of work with clear outcomes within general role objective.
Good understanding of principles of financial accounting for banking products and the practical application of these principles.
Track record of building cross-functional relationships and influence.
Demonstrable ability to develop agreement of what needs to be done and to marshal appropriate resources outside of direct control to get this done.
Able to work effectively both cross-functionally and within own team balancing needs, priorities and resources of matrix line and functional line.
Able to work effectively in fast moving environment where objectives and priorities may not always be completely defined.
